Any questions? This should help!
Do you have any restrictions on the type of ceremony or requirements to officiate my wedding?
Some ministers or officiants will only do a "traditional" wedding.
Basically anything the couple wants, is fine with me.
Are you available for my wedding date and location of ceremony?
Let me know what the day is! I am willing to travel. When the deposit is made, your date and time
is secured. I have never missed a wedding in 23 years of doing this!
What is your fee? Are there any extra fees for mileage, extra ceremonies, attending the rehearsal, etc.?
My most popular package is the 'To Have and To Hold', which is $505. I have other packages for less
and going to $625 for the more detailed ceremony. There may be travel fees, depending on the distance.
I am now offering weddings in the Seattle area with modified prices.
Check the Services & Rates page for more information.
How will you be dressed?
A dark suit/outfit.
How long is the ceremony?
As long as you want it. The average is 10 minutes. That’s about as much as anyone can handle.
I have actually done a ceremony in 3 minutes!
Do you attend the rehearsal?
Yes, if we make a plan for that. There may be an extra cost.
Can I have readers besides the officiant?
Of course! That does fall under the packages-'To Have and To Hold' and 'Happy Together'.
Can we meet with you in person before the ceremony?
Yes. We can meet near Sequim, otherwise we can make a plan. I also FaceTime and Zoom.
Do you offer any flexibility within the ceremony format to meet the individual needs of the couple?
Absolutely, I want this amazing day to be yours and to be memorable.
We will work on what's best for you, the couple.
Are you supportive of interfaith, secular and same-sex marriages?
Yes. All of my ceremonies are crafted to the individual couples, with no judgement.
Are there opportunities for friends or family members to participate in the ceremony
to add a personal touch?
Yes. That does fall under the packages-'To Have and To Hold' and 'Happy Together'.
What is an add-on?
Add-ons are personal touches we can create in your ceremony to add something memorable.
These are part of the 'To Have and To Hold' and 'Happy Together' ceremonies.
They include-
*Hand binding-A cord can wrapped around the couples hands, I recite a significant poem/saying and when you both pull the cord it turns into a unity knot. Also the cord can be laid over the couples hands by family or friends.
*Sand ceremony-the couple (and if desired the family) each have a container of sand. As I say something special, you all pour your sand into one larger container, one at a time or all together.
*Candle lighting ceremony-you can use this for just the couple, the mothers and/or family. Each person has a candle in a holder on a table and there is one singular unlit candle. As I say something unique, you light (if unlit) the candles and light the singular candle together.
*Wine Box-Along with a bottle of wine, you will place the vows you’ve shared
at your ceremony in a commemorative box. I will say a few appropriate words.
On your 1st anniversary, you’ll open the box, enjoy the wine, and read your vows.
You can reflect on how your love and relationship has evolved and matured through marriage.
You will then continue this practice and create a new romantic time capsule every year,
renewing your vows and sealing them in the box with a new bottle of wine.
*Puzzle ceremony- You have a special puzzle made with names or dates or something specific. The couple and/or family members will put together the puzzle while I speak.
This is great for blended families.
Check out Etsy for ideas of custom puzzles.
There are many more fun add ons we can do. As we talk more about what you want,
we can figure out what is right for your ceremony.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, credit and debit cards. I use Square, which is an online site that is extremely safe and secure.
Do you offer any guidance on how to apply for marriage license including providing assistance and how to expedite the process of obtaining a certified copy of the marriage certificate?
Yes I do. You can obtain a marriage license from any courthouse in Washington. These licenses are good only in the state of Washington. You can get the license from 60 days before your wedding and it must be at least 3 days before the wedding. When you get your marriage license, please thoroughly check it for any mistakes. Sometimes when you order the license, the county may have filled in the information about the couple, Person A and Person B. If this has not been done, please fill it out accurately. On the back is a space for Social Security numbers, please fill that in. Doing this allows us to fill out the rest quickly, so you can go enjoy your wedding!
Once we have signed everything at the wedding, I will send it to the proper county. You will have to find out if that county automatically sends you a copy of the license. If you need more copies for things like insurance or name changes, you will need to arrange that with the county court you got your license from. Please check out the Washington State laws for marriage license by clicking the tab below.
If you are from out-of-state, you can go through Clallam County for your license. They are the county that most of the Olympic Peninsula is in. There is a link below.
How do I get my name changed?
Start with Social Security, below is the link to the page that gives info on changing your name. In most cases you can use one marriage certificate to change your name at the bank or drivers licensing departments. If you think you might need more copies, contact the county you applied for the license, to get more copies. Most charge very nominal fees and can send them to you. You can ask these questions while applying for the license.
Can you provide videos so we can see your work?
Presently, I do not have any video of my work, just pictures.
Do you offer extra services?
Yes~
Marriage proposal picnics.
After ceremony cake and champagne toast.
Check out the Romantic Proposal Picnics & Micro Receptions and Toasts pages for information.
Can you handle a complicated family situation?
Oh yes!
Can we write our own personal vows each other?
Absolutely, I encourage it!
Can we be creative and have a theme wedding?
Yes! Yes! Yes!
When I need to reach you, how do I contact you and if I don’t reach you right away
then how soon can I expect you to respond?
